Corporate Portrait Pitch
Hi. My name is Jay. For the past 25+ years I’ve been on the agency and client side of brand, marketing and advertising. The past 15 as a national creative director for a brand you’ve heard of.
I’m on sabbatical through 2026. I’m using this time to co-produce a series for Netflix, expand my photography business and spend time with my kids.
So What’s Corporate Portrait?
Corporate Portrait specializes in high volume, on-site headshots for companies of all sizes delivering consistent, high-quality portraits that help businesses elevate their brand and strengthen their teams. I’m looking for independent photographers to join our network.
We sell our service with a very simple tagline:
Think School Picture Day Meets The Business World.
VHT Studios
I’m reaching out first to VHT Studios photographers. I’m fortunate to have Brian, the founder of VHT, mentoring me as Corporate Portrait expands. You already understand the value of professional photography and the demands of national accounts.
50/50 Revenue Share
As a creative, I believe in creative partnership, not transactions. I operate on a 50/50 revenue share with no franchise fees or ongoing licensing costs.
So far for 2025 we’ve completed 62 headshot sessions (312 creative hours) in Omaha and Lincoln, Nebraska this year. YTD revenue is $123,500 (Zero discounts or make good work.) The photographers have been paid $61,750 and will receive a 1099 at year-end. (YTD $198 per creative hour.)
It’s simple, transparent, and designed for long-term success.
Market Exclusivity
I come from a world of territory-based marketing, where setting clear boundaries is what keeps everything running smoothly. Having a single point of contact is important.
When we build demand in your area, you’re the sole Corporate Portrait partner there. You’re not competing with other photographers under the same brand or waiting to “take turns” on incoming projects.
How you choose to manage that territory, whether you handle sessions yourself or bring on subcontractors as things grow, is entirely up to you.
Note: Here in Omaha, I can reach most client sites in 30 minutes or less. In larger metros, travel time is a different game and coverage may need to be talked through. What works here might not work everywhere.
Note: I’m not interested in working with brokers. Only photographers.
Roles
Our role: We handle the sales, marketing, account service, scheduling, project management, editing, and client delivery.
Your role: You handle photographing the session then upload the files. No client chasing, no admin work, no post-production.
Any session beyond headshots is 100% yours. We often see additional opportunities come up, editorial shoots, environmental, or even direct requests from the employees you photograph (for family portraits, senior photos, weddings, and more). Those leads are entirely yours to manage, book, and profit from.
Brass Tacks
If this sounds interesting surf through this website and see how we’re talking to decision makers across departments and industries. I come from the client side of the desk and know what pain points headshots address.
- Our operating agreement is a simple one pager. It outlines our understanding and holds us both accountable.
- There are no licensing or “franchise” fees. There’s a one-time $300 setup that covers building your local landing page, SEO, Google Business profile setup.
- Once we set up your market I have inroads to national brands. Additionally, we’ll reach out to companies that have the need for headshots. I use both Hubstpot and Salesforce for CRM.
- I use Proofpix for workflow, this system handles scheduling and organizing photos. All the metadata is automatically linked, making the upload process seamless.
- I carry $1M general liability insurance, I’ll cover your Corporate Portrait shoots.
- Equipment needs are straightforward: a camera, a seamless gray background, two lights. We keep the process simple.
If you have questions or want to talk this through I’m always at phone/text: 402-701=0806. Thank you.
Jay
